LI2DAY would like to take the time to thank all of the volunteers who came out as early at 6 a.m. to help with the Inaugural Hope Runs Here 5K Breast Cancer Run/Walk.  Your dedication and hard work really made this first-time event run smoothly.  

 

The route ran successfully because of Bob Goldberg, his daughter Samantha, Chris Frey and the countless volunteers who manned the water stations and secured the route.  Special thanks to Peter Martin for volunteering to be the lead biker and keeping the runners on the route.  Great work!  

 

The Start/Finish area also worked like a well-oiled machine thanks to the many volunteers who signed in participants, worked the registration, t-shirt and merchandise tables.  You all did a great job of quickly converting that area in the finish line food/beverage stations.  Steve Matonti thank you for adding a special touch by singing the National Anthem and for providing entertainment.  

 

LI2DAY would also like to thank Mike Polansky and Linda Ottaviano of the Greater Long Island Running Club for their assistance with coordinating the race and promoting it among their runners.  We couldn't have done this without you!
